Amazon commission unscripted University of Michigan Football series

Amazon have commissioned an exclusive series following University of Michigan Football team’s legendary Coach Jim Harbaugh and the 11-time national championship team throughout the 2017 season, exclusively for Prime Video.

The cameras will follow Coach Harbaugh, his assistant coaches, the student athletes and their support system on and off the field, giving viewers an inside look at the team, game, practice, life in Ann Arbor and everything in between.

American College Football is one of the biggest sports in the world, despite its relatively low coverage in the UK. University of Michigan’s football revenue exceeds $90m and has an average attendance of around 110,000, which is 20,000 more than the maximum capacity at Wembley Stadium, and over 10,000 more than FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou, the largest soccer stadium in Europe.

The Unscripted Amazon Original will be produced by college sports network BTN, who recently celebrated their tenth anniversary, as well as The Montag Group and Jim Jorden Productions.

Conrad Riggs, Head of Unscripted, Amazon Originals, said: “We pride ourselves on offering Prime members access to the people and worlds that they simply cannot find anywhere else. This series will show viewers an elite college football programme in a way that’s never been done before.

“We’re excited to have this series join the Sports Emmy-winning All or Nothing on our unscripted sports programming roster.”

The series will be a global release and available on www.amazon.co.uk/prime for Prime Video members in more than 200 countries and territories.
