Monolith Productions’s upcoming fantasy adventure game, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, has taken the unusual approach of hiring actors for its latest trailer, which looks comparable to Peter Jackson’s epic Lord of the Rings movies.
The interactive trailer also allows viewers to make a choice whether to save a follower or slay a foe at the end. A voiceover says that “nothing will be forgotten”, mimicking the famed “Nemesis System” introduced in the previous game Shadow of Mordor. In both games, enemies remember choices you make in-game and react accordingly for the rest of the story.
Shadow of War will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next month.
