The synopsis for Doctor Who‘s much anticipated Christmas special ‘Twice Upon a Time’ has been published on BBC America’s online store, months before its home video release on 20th February 2018.
Are you ready to see? As the Doctor’s wife River Song may say, SPOILERS!
Two Doctors stranded in a forbidding snowscape, refusing to face regeneration. And a British army captain seemingly destined to die in the First World War, but taken from the trenches to play his part in the Doctor’s story. This is the magical last chapter in the Twelfth Doctor’s epic adventure. He must face his past to decide his future. And the Doctor will realise the resilience of humanity, discovering hope in his darkest frozen moment. It’s the end of an era. But the Doctor’s journey is only just beginning.
The Christmas special sees the end of Peter Capaldi’s tenure as the iconic Time Lord. Jodie Whittaker will become the first ever actress to play the Doctor when she makes her debut in the episode.
The festive one-off also features David Bradley taking over the late William Hartnell’s role as the very first Doctor in Steven Moffat’s final Who script before his departure from the long-running BBC flagship show.
Doctor Who ‘Twice Upon a Time’ airs on BBC One on Christmas Day.
Really looking forward to this episode. Loved Capaldi as The Doctor, and getting to see David Bradley actually playing the character rather than just as William Hartnell is going to be awesome.
