Fear The Walking Dead: Who won’t make it out of Season 3?

This article contains spoilers for The Walking DeadFear the Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead can be absolutely brutal when it comes to killing off anyone from its core cast! Only last season did the show kill off fan favourite Glenn Rhee and it’s fair to say that spinoff Fear the Walking Dead is no different.

In the first two seasons, the show offed Travis Manawa’s ex-wife to a zombie bite and then his sociopathic son Chris was shot by two outsiders who the father and son had gotten mixed up with. And if the show doesn’t jump the shark in the second half of Season 3, we have to assume they finished off the family after Travis was shot and fell out of flying helicopter in “The New Frontier”.

With no one safe, Set The Tape lists our Top 5 most likely candidates to suffer a bloody end in the second half of Season 3…

Alicia Clark

Right now you can’t see anyone from Madison’s clan dying, but then no one saw Travis’s death coming. Madison and her son with more lives than the family cat Nick Clark are definitely safe, but daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) could be a shock death that would certainly shake things up.

Madison has proven that she will do anything for her family and has shown she is more than a match for any man; but what extremes will she go to? What if one of the Otto brothers was responsible for the death of her precious Licia? It would definitely be squeaky bum time for Jake and Troy.

Ofelia Salazar

If you asked me who I thought was destined to meet the Grim Reaper all the way back in Season One, I’d have instantly said war criminal Daniel Salazar’s naive daughter Ofelia (Mercedes Mason). However, as the series has progressed, she has undergone a Carol Peletier style transformation from meek and mild, to cunning and fearless.

Now she is on the opposing side to our main protagonists, it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to soldier on through the rest of the series unscathed. With her father Daniel looking for her, who unbeknownst to her is actually still alive, it seems inevitable that she’ll soon fall after reuniting with her dear old Dad.

Jake Otto

Kind hearted Jake (Sam Underwood) is exactly the type of person that meddling Madison can easily manipulate. Particularly as she seems to have a hold over his destructive brother Troy. As long as he doesn’t rumble Madison’s plans, he should be okay.

That being said, he is currently romancing Alicia who has a bad track record when it comes to the men in her life, from the father who committed suicide, to her high school sweetheart Matt who met a zombified end. So perhaps lying down with controlling Madison’s daughter isn’t the smartest move?

And let’s not forget how Jake’s father Jeremiah actually met his maker! What if he knew the truth?

Qaletaqa Walker

The most minor name on this list is probably the most likely to meet the producers axe, but whether that means he’ll be killed off or simply never seen again remains to be seen.

Walker’s (Michael Greyeyes) feud with the Otto’s appears to have been put to bed for now after Madison and Nick’s actions last episode, but how long will that appease him and his tribe who seemed so desperate to get their land back last time out? Will he cross Madison and not live to regret it? Will Troy ruin the pact by acting out leading to an all out war? Or will he simply be a distant memory come the end of the season?

Troy Otto

We know from both shows that rarely do severely unhinged characters survive long term, whether it be Chris Manawa or the parent show’s Shane Walsh. I’m sure it doesn’t come as a surprise who we’ve picked for the top spot.

As soon as we met the psychotic mummy’s boy Troy Otto (Jackson Robert Scott) in the Season Premiere “Eye of the Beholder”, it was fair to assume his days were numbered. If the show had decided to move away from the Ranch at the end of the half season then Troy would already be dead. With Madison’s bid for power at the Ranch still ongoing, and potential for further fallout with Walker’s Hopi tribe, it was more than enough reason to keep Troy around.

But as he continues to become more unpredictable, and if Madison’s bid for leadership of the ranch is successful, she may see Troy as an unnecessary liability so we predict that Troy will meet a grizzly end during the shows season finale.
